The “Youth and Parliament” event in the Bundestag, Germany’s federal parliament, on Tuesday witnessed an unusual way of climate protest when a group of 20 students lay down in the chambers staging a “die-in” against the government’s “disastrous” climate policies.

The other supporters of the “stunt” held up a banner that read “Your Climate Policies=Catastrophe,” notes ABC News. Parliamentary speaker Wolfgang Schaeuble was reportedly unmoved by the animated display as she told the protesters to keep lying down but leave by noon the next day when the next session opens.

Activist Maximilian Reimers said that the protest was aimed at drawing attention toward the government’s environmental apathy and failure in tackling climate change breakdown, reports RT.
