Democrat Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who recently unveiled the ambitious Green New Deal, isn’t taking the insults lying down even if they are hurled by U.S. President Donald Trump.

At a rally in El Paso, Texas, Trump poured scorn on the sweeping proposals that aim to steer the country to a zero-carbon economy, protect environment, create green jobs, ensure social equality and more, by describing the Green New Deal as “high school term paper that got a low mark,” writes Eco Watch.

Ocasio-Cortez was upbeat in giving a mouthful back to the condescending president, as she questioned Trump’s ability to provide “literary criticism” when he can’t “even read briefings written in full sentences,” reports News.com.

Trump, like many of his Republican peers, sought to cast the Green New Deal as a wonky idea that could upend the American economy, stifle growth and take away all jobs.
