A suicide bomber blew himself off in Pakistan’s Orakzai district killing at least 25 people while three armed gunmen affiliated to a separatist militant group raided the Chinese consulate in the city of Karachi and killed two policemen on Friday.

The three attackers, with ties to the Balochistan Liberation Army – an ethnic separatist group that opposes China’s exploitation of local resources, were gunned down by the security forces before they could storm into the consulate in the upmarket Clifton area, writes the BBC.

Balochistan Liberation Army, which has been battling the Pakistani state for the independence of Balochistan, has recently staged deadly attacks against Chinese personnel to thwart the $56bn China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) infrastructure project, reports Al Jazeera.
