London’s Trafalgar Square is hosting a fluorescent sculpture of a bright red lion, which unlike the four other permanent “passive” cats at the site, roars poems in response to the words entered on an adjacent screen by curious visitors.

The installation, named “Please Feed The Lions,” is designed by Es Devlin, after a year-long effort in collaboration with Google Arts & Culture, writes the BBC. The sculpture, powered by an AI algorithm, weaves verses from random words fed by passersby, exploring the merger of machine learning in art.

The idea behind the work is to visualize as if the messages and feelings of historic celebrations and protests at the site have seeped through these cats’ bronze bodies and now with an installation, getting a vent to emanate as poetic expressions, reports Futurism.
