In an anonymous New York Times editorial, one of the senior White House officials has claimed “resistance” within the administration to keep U.S. President Donald Trump from executing his “worst inclinations.”

A White House official writing a critique of an incumbent president is an unprecedented example in the history of the U.S., writes The Guardian. The editorial is bitterly unsparing on “amoral” Trump, criticizing the leader’s tendency to make “half-baked, ill-informed and occasionally reckless decisions.”

The opinion piece resonates with the claims made by renowned journalist Bob Woodward's upcoming book “Fear: Trump in the White House,” notes the BBC. The excerpts from the books suggested that White House officials had been hiding sensitive documents to prevent Trump from acting on his whims and fancies.
