U.S. President Donald Trump launched a Twitter tirade against famed investigative journalist Bob Woodward, dismissing his upcoming book “Fear: Trump in the White House” as politically motivated “con on the public.”

The book, due to be released the next week, has come under the spotlight for its chaotic portrayal of the Trump’s presidency and explosive claims, such as the deliberate acts by the White House officials to hide sensitive documents from the eccentric president, notes the BBC.

Trump alleged that the book, which Woodward says is based on hundreds of hours of interviews with key figures in the White House, was timed to malign the Republicans ahead of the midterm elections in November, reports The Guardian.
