The female entrepreneurs championing women’s healthcare and leisure products and applications in a male-dominated tech world are turning the tide with about $1.1 billion startup funding in the bag over the past few years.

One of the key factors behind the rise of femtech industry is the current narrative around empowering women in the workplace and the presence of more female mentors, VCs and corporate heads who can be pitched directly for new, women-centric ideas, notes Leapsmag.

The money pouring into the femtech industry “isn’t just a fad” but a far-reaching transition rooted to the change in a flawed notion that women lack interest in technology and products meant for personal health tracking and sexual pleasure, writes Medical Plastics News.
