Salah Abdeslam, the lone surviving suspect in the 2015 Paris attacks, has been sentenced to 20 years in jail over separate terrorism-related charges in Belgium. Abdeslam, currently being held in a jail in France, is found guilty of firing on police officers, who raided a flat in Brussels in 2016.

Abdeslam, due to undergo trial over the Paris attacks, has refused to participate in the judicial proceedings, accusing the court of being biased against Muslims, reports the BBC.

The court ruled that “there can be no doubt” that Abdeslam and another accomplice Sofiane Ayari were involved in “radicalism,” notes The Guardian.
