The Basque militant organization Eta, which killed 800 people and wounded thousands of others in four decades of bloodshed for independence, has apologized for the pain and misery afflicted on people with no participation in the conflict.

The armed group, on course for dissolution in coming days, added that it looks forward to reconciliation in the Basque country, writes the BBC.

While admitting its mistakes and “unacceptable and unjust” actions, Eta reminded of the utterly wrong behavior of the Spanish state forces in the name of law, notes The Guardian.
