How are we going to feed the world population that’s set to clock 10 billion by 2050? A startup, named Kiverdi, believes it can wring food and power out of carbon dioxide, a breakthrough it claims, could restructure our entire food-production model and lead us to a more sustainable living.

The startup, inspired by a technology meant for recycling of carbon on spacecraft, uses natural microbes to convert carbon dioxide and other gases into oils, nutrients and bio-based products, writes Green Matters.

This “Planet + Protein” model has “an amazingly low environmental footprint,” claims Dr. Lisa Dyson, CEO of Kiverdi, reports Nation Swell.
