Attacker Nasim Aghdam, 39, was a vegan activist and ran a number of channels and websites.

The woman, who opened fire at YouTube’s headquarters in California on Tuesday, was a vegan activist enraged by “discrimination” after the video-sharing platform “filtered her videos” and squeezed the revenues she was generating.

The attacker, Nasim Aghdam, 39, arrived at an outdoor patio and dining area at the offices in San Bruno, near San Francisco, and opened fire with a handgun, injuring three people before she shot herself dead, notes the BBC.

Aghdam ran a number of channels and websites championing pro-vegan views and campaigning against animal cruelty, writes The Guardian. Police are yet to ascertain the motive behind the assault as they ruled out specific targeting of victims by the shooter.
