In a move that has left opposition leaders and foreign policy experts worried, U.S. President Donald Trump has announced replacing National Security Adviser HR McMaster with former U.N. ambassador, John Bolton.

Bolton, a staunch advocate of using military force against N. Korea and Iran, is viewed as a “warmonger” by many, including Senator Bernie Sanders, who lambasted the Trump pick for misleading the U.S. into the disastrous Iraq war, notes Al Jazeera.

Bolton is an “unusual choice” for the office as he legitimizes the same Iraq war, which Trump has often described as a colossal mistake, writes the BBC.
