U.S. President Donald Trump is set to announce new trade sanctions on China on Thursday in a action, which the officials say, penalizes Beijing for promoting theft and transfer of intellectual property from the American businesses.

The U.S. also mulls knocking the doors of the World Trade Organization against China’s malpractices, including investment in strategic industries in America to conduct and support cyber attack, writes the BBC.

The Chinese commerce ministry issued a pre-emptive warning, threatening retaliatory measures to defend its rights and interests, notes SBS News.
