Could you imagine tires, one of the most toxic parts of the transportation system, to be green and good to air? Goodyear’s new tire, called Oxygene, bucks the conventions and the perceptions, with its unique design that features integrated living moss to clean up air as you travel.

The concept tire unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show powers its on-board sensors with a trace of electricity from photosynthesis carried out by the central moss, writes Inhabitat.

Quantifying the ecological benefits of this innovation, the firm claims that 4,000 tons of carbon dioxide can be sucked out of the environment each year if every car in Paris runs on these tires, writes CNET.
