According to the figures released by the Office for National Statistics, the net migration to the U.K. dropped by 29,000 to 244,000 in the year to last September, a decline that’s being attributed to the uncertainty sparked by Brexit vote.

This is the first time the net migration to the U.K. from the European Union has fallen below 100,000 since the 12 months ending March 2013, writes the BBC.

The falling numbers of immigrants could be good news for the government but it gives rise to a new challenge for U.K. businesses faced with a shortage of skilled workforce, notes Independent.
