In a sign that apparently reflects North Korean leader’s seriousness about mending ties with Seoul, his sister and senior Worker’s Party functionary, Kim Yo-jong, will attend the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympic Games in the South.

Speculations are ripe that Kim Yo-jong, a close aide of President Kim Jong-un, might convey a message from her brother, notes Reuters.

However, the proposed visit, the first by a direct member of the Kim dynasty, faces several hurdles as Seoul would need special permission from the international community, including the U.S. to allow this trip, writes the BBC.
