A premature revelation of the Trump administration’s plans to develop a government-controlled 5G network has sparked speculations over its outcome for the American society.

The U.S. telecommunications, dominated by private players until now, would undergo a dramatic shift, with wireless companies required to rent signal broadcasting rights and technology, which would eventually impact monthly costs and internet speeds, notes Futurism.
