Eurozone posts strongest growth in a decade in 2017

According to Eurostat, the economy of Eurozone grew at 2.5% in 2017, the highest posted by the 19-nation bloc in a decade while the U.K. lagged behind with 1.8% growth during the same period.

The Eurozone economy has picked steam following a raft of stimulus measures by the European Central Bank, including cutting down its main interest rate to zero and buying financial assets worth billions of euros every month, writes the BBC.

The data restore a sense of calm and stability in the region which was looking financially fragile in the wake of Greek debt crisis three years ago, notes The Guardian
