At least two people have been killed and 11 others injured after four gunmen detonated explosives and stormed into the office of Save the Children aid agency in the Afghan city of Jalalabad on Wednesday.

Clashes between the militants and the Afghan Special Forces are going on in the area, which is home to several other aid group and government offices, writes Reuters.

Precarious security conditions in Afghanistan make life tough for charity groups working in the country, even prompting withdrawals by some organizations, notes the BBC. The Red Cross announced last year that it was reducing its workforce in Afghanistan following the killing of seven of its staff in 2017.
