Actress Nikki Reed’s company, Bayou With Love, has teamed up with Dell for a venture that involves recovering gold scraps from old motherboards and transforming them into 14- and 18-carat gold rings, earrings, and cufflinks, as part of the Circular Collection.

Dell, which seeks to stem e-waste by closing “the gold loop,” states that Americans discard a staggering $60 million in gold and silver by not recycling their phones and electronics, notes Green Matters.

Individually, phones, tablets and notebooks, carry tiny traces of valuable metals but the aggregate from millions of electronic devices can be handy both to the economy of manufacturing and the circular supply chain model, writes Fast Company.
