Russia links: Mueller plans to interview U.S. president

Special Counsel Robert Mueller, who leads an inquiry into the alleged Russian interference in the U.S. election last year, is likely to interview President Donald Trump within weeks, claims a report published in The Washington Post.

Trump’s lawyers have been in touch with Mueller’s team discussing if the president could provide written answers to questions instead of a face-to-face “open-ended questioning,” writes the BBC.

Trump faces a string of tough questions, including whether he had prior knowledge of former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn lying to the FBI and why he fired former FBI Director James Comey, notes Newsweek
