Intrigued by the differences in cultures and the alienation between them, Chinese Artist Xu Zhen has come up with an installation that blends sculptural representations of “Eternity Buddha in Nirvana” with Greco-Roman renaissance and neoclassical figures, showcasing a fascinating confluence of the East and West.

The 14-meter-long statue symbolizes a “new form of creative culture,” which Zhen believes can bridge gaps and promote understanding and appreciation across societal boundaries.

The work was on display at the National Gallery of Victoria, where some 100 artists and designers from 32 countries portrayed their innovative flair in diverse art forms, notes Design Boom.
