Microsoft pumps $50m into “AI for Earth” program

Microsoft has announced that it will be investing another $50 million into its “AI for Earth” program over the next five years as the firm seeks to leverage artificial intelligence for promoting sustainability around the globe.

“AI for Earth,” launched in July, began with a $2 million investment, with the aim of democratizing AI technology and has since, awarded 35 grants in 10 countries to advance monitoring, modeling and managing of the earth’s natural systems, writes Green Matters.

Artificial intelligence could be a potent weapon in finding and understanding the huge digital datasets related to climate-related issues, Sci Tech Today.
