Lamborghini self-healing sports car rearing to go

Lamborghini teamed up with a group of researchers from MIT to develop the world’s first “self-healing” sports car that uses powerful sensors to detect surface cracks on its body and then autonomously repairs them.

Named Terzo Millennio, which translates into “third millennium” in Italian, the conceptual car “rewrites the rules on super sports car,” according to Stefano Domenicali, manager and CEO of Lamborghini, writes The Telegraph.

The car gets it self-healing capabilities from carbon fiber structure that plugs the fissures with nanotubes, preventing any damage from propagating along the surface, notes Dezeen
