“The Gate” to futuristic homes with mega-trees

“The Gate,” coming up in Cairo by 2019, showcases how modern architecture is adapting and reverting to nature in sync with urban development. The 4.8-million-square-foot complex will feature “mega-trees,” which are cylindrical walls covered in greenery.

The futuristic complex comprises of eight intertwining buildings with their top floors connected via pedestrian bridges, notes Futurism.

Partially powered by solar and wind, the Gate underscores the importance of implementing green sustainable practices in architecture to combat global warming and offset carbon emissions, writes Business Insider
