Xiaoyi, an AI-powered robot built by Chinese firm iFlytek Co., Ltd., has become the world’s first robot to pass a medical licensing examination, a development that falls in line with the country’s push to integrate AI in a number of industries.

The makers seek to promote better man-machine cooperation with Xiaoyi, facilitating human doctors in cranking up their efficiency in future treatments, writes Futurism.

Fed with dozens of medical books over the past 12 months, Xiaoyi displayed reasoning capabilities in treating symptoms but has a long way to go to match a qualified doctor, notes The Sun.
