Activewear brand fashions clothing from plastic bottles

In a departure from fashion industry’s infamous ways of piling up landfills, a Seattle-based company, Girlfriend Collective (GC) is turning plastic bottles into activewear clothing.

The company utilizes post-consumer products, processes them with eco-friendly techniques and ensures every stage of the production aligns with environmental principles, notes Green Matters.

For example, the water used in dying is treated right on site and diverted to a pavement facility where it is upcycled to make roads.
