World’s tallest solar tower to rise high in Dubai skies

The government of Dubai has given nod for the construction of a 260-meter solar tower at the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, the world’s largest single-site solar facility expected to crank up 5,000 MW by 2030.

The park, comprising of 2.3 million photovoltaic solar panels, will eventually span over 214 sq. km. and shave off carbon emissions by 6.5 million tonnes per year by 2030, notes New Atlas.

His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum lauded the project, describing it as another example of how Dubai is championing the cause of environmental sustainability and clean energy by investing in technologies that squeeze carbon footprint, writes Gulf News.
