One need not be a professional environmentalist or scientist to turn this planet into a greener ecosystem - that’s the message sent out by a Florida-based brewery that is creating and using edible beer holders to save marine life from further stress.

Saltwater Brewery uses wheat and barley waste – natural byproducts in beer manufacturing – to create six-pack rings that unlike their plastic counterparts do not kill fish and other aquatic life but feeds them, notes The Guardian.

The 100 percent biodegradable rings may have a small environmental impact currently, but the makers believe that a humble beginning could inspire the giants in the packaging industry, writes Dezeen.
