A wavering U.S. dollar suffered further erosion against major currencies on Friday after U.S. media reported that special prosecutor Robert Mueller has convened grand jury as part of his investigation into alleged collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.

Sireen Harajli, FX strategist at Mizuho in New York explained that an environment of political uncertainty is weighing on the dollar, writes The Guardian.

The development came as traders have been optimistically watchful on a non-farm jobs report in the U.S. to be released today, notes Economic Times.
