Nature never disappoints whenever mankind turns to it for inspiration. The notion holds true for a team of researchers that has developed a plant-inspired soft robot that can grow up to 25,000 percent in size, slithering and sneaking into the corners and mazes, otherwise difficult to access.

Similar to a climber plant, the robot can detect the presence of light and grow towards, an attribute that holds promise for relief and rescue operations, writes Popular Science.

According to the journal Science Robotics, the tiny robot can adapt to even the most constrained and cluttered environments, moving at a speed of up to 22 miles per hour, notes The Verge.
