To the reprieve of husbands who despise circling around shops with their wives, the Global Harbour mall in Shanghai, China has set up “husband storage” pods, where men can find a peaceful, comfortable seat and humble gaming options for momentary refuge.

The novel idea, which a few believe incentivizes disgruntled husbands for accompanying their wives and handling shopping bills, has become a butt of jokes on Chinese social media with debate that the glass cubicles should be trialed on a wider scale, writes the BBC.

For now, the “husband storage” service is free but plans are underway to make the users pay for it in future, notes Entrepreneur.
