A massive fire broke out at the Grenfell Tower in central London on Wednesday killing some people and injuring more than 50 others, as the firefighters battled hard to control the flames enveloping the 24-storey housing block.

London Mayor has declared the tragedy a “major incident,” as rescue operation continues in full swing with 200 firefighters and 40 fire engines deployed at the site, reports the BBC.

Meanwhile, a blog dated November 2016 shows that the residents of the Grenfell Tower had previously raised alarm over the dangerous living conditions and neglect of safety regulations in the block, writes Al Jazeera.

As grief and anger boils over, the Grenfell Action Group has updated a new entry on its blog that reads, “all our warnings fell on deaf ears.”
