7-Eleven has launched BioPay, a new payment system that allows customers to conveniently carry out transactions just with the help of their body parts linked to a credit card.

The system installed at South Korea’s Lotte World Tower, is part of a smart convenience store with an unmanned counter and other high-tech features like electronic price tags, smart surveillance systems, etc., notes Retail in Asia.

Currently, the system uses the HandPay system, in which customers are identified by scanning their hand veins, which is a simpler method than iris or fingerprint recognition, writes, The Korea Herald.
