The candidates of Emmanuel Macron’s centrist party are leading the first round of vote in almost all the constituencies for French voters abroad, according to the numbers released by the country’s foreign ministry.

The development came as the latest polls predicted a landslide victory for Macron’s La République En Marche political party in the parliamentary elections scheduled for June 11 and June 18, writes The Guardian.

Macron’s party is likely to bag more than half of the country’s 577 parliamentary seats. Given the divisions within the party, Macron must secure a strong majority to push his own center-right agenda, notes Independent.
