Novel bag lets you cook food in washing machine

An Israeli student, Iftach Gazit, has developed a nifty food bag that can be placed inside the washing machine to cook food simultaneously while washing clothes. The Sous La Vie bags, made from waterproof Tyvek paper, vacuum-seal the food as it cooks slowly and evenly in hot water over a long period of time.

These bags come with a wide range of pre-packed foods, from steak to salmon in teriyaki sauce, with washing temperatures and nutritional information printed in clothing label style, notes The Guardian.

Gazit, a designer by profession, reveals that the “humorous” concept is inspired by the grief of those homeless people, who find refuge in 24/7 laundromats, writes Dezeen.
