A new male fertility test kit, called YO Home Sperm Test, allows a user to test his sperm motility and count and even view the “little swimmers” on the screen of a smartphone. The F.D.A. approved at-home kit from Medical Electronic Systems comprises of a mini-microscope, called the YO clip, which is affixed to the user’s smartphone for measuring motile sperm concentration.

YO, with its simple, step-by-step interactive screens and instructional animations, is a product designed to take the consumer’s state-of-mind into consideration, writes Design Boom. The kit shows the sperms on video and the results are delivered within minutes requiring no interpretation.

The kit, developed by the same team which devised M.E.S.’s “gold standard” laboratory sperm quality analyzers, is priced at $50 and delivers results with 97 percent accuracy, notes Phone Arena.
