Zika reaches Asia; Bangladesh confirms first case

A 67-year old man in Bangladesh tested positive for the Zika virus on Tuesday according to health ministry officials. The deadly virus has already struck large swathes of Latin America and the Caribbean, with Brazil the worst hit.

According to an estimate by the World Health Organization, theZika virus may eventually affect 4 million people in the American region, reports Reuters.

Researchers have found in early trials that an experimental drug formulated for controlling dengue is equally effective in treating Zika, writes The Economic Times.
