The 67th Cannes Film Festival kicked off May 14 with the premiere of "Grace of Monaco," the Grace Kelly biopic starring Nicole Kidman in the title role and Tim Roth as Prince Rainier III.

International film stars turned out in full force, donning gowns ranging from floaty and flirty to monochrome and avant-garde, many also dripping in shiny baubles from high-end jewelers as usual.

A delightfully broad range of designers were represented on the red carpet that evening. Kidman opted for a blue, bejeweled number byArmani Privé, while supermodel Karlie Kloss decided on a burgundy lace ensemble by Valentino.

Young French actress Adele Exarchopouloswowed the crowd in a sleek black-and-white custom piece by Louis Vuitton; Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi looked flawless in the same color combination in a Stéphane Rolland Couture number (and oft-hidden Brian Atwood pumps).

Paz Vega and Jane Fonda both opted to show off their figures in body-skimming Elie Saab.Blake Lively showed a lot of leg in Gucci Premiere, and Laetitia Casta was resplendent in a structural, origami-like Dior Couture bustier dress.
