A group of Kashmiri students in India is facing charges of sedition for apparently cheering the country's arch rival Pakistan in a cricket match. The students of a university in Uttar Pradesh state were suspended at the weekend after the Asia Cup match in which Pakistan defeated India. A sedition charge carries a three-year prison term in India. Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said the charge against the students was "unacceptably harsh".
