Niger has extradited Muammar Gaddafi's son Saadi Gaddafi, the Libyan government has announced. The government says Saadi Gaddafi, one of the deposed Libyan leader's eight children, is being detained in Tripoli and will be treated “in accordance with international law”. Saadi fled in 2011 when his father was killed during the uprising. Niger had previously refused requests for his extradition from the Libyan government, with the justice minister claiming he was "certain to face the death penalty".
