Whales tracked from space with satellites

Researchers at the British Antarctic Survey are exploring ways in which to more accurately track whale movements and populations from space. High-resolution satellite imagery and software is being used to measure numbers of whales, beginning with the Southern Right Whale off the coast of Argentina.
