GM's global sales rise 4% in 2013

General Motors global sales grew 4% in 2013 thanks to strong demand in the world's two largest auto markets, China and the United States. The world's second largest car manufacturer sold 9.71 million vehicles, an increase of more than 417,000 vehicles from 2012, as demand surged 11% to a record high in China, and also in the United Kingdom, and rose 7% in the U.S. Mary Barra (in the photo above), General Motors Senior Vice President of Global Product Development  will take over as CEO of General Motors January 15, replacing outgoing CEO Dan Akerson.
