Tablets surpassing PCs quicker than expected

The IDC's report indicating a sharper-than-expected slump in PC sales coincides with the forecast for a tremendous increase in tablet shipments through the end of 2013. Computer makers have anticipated the slow decline of personal computer shipments, making partnerships with mobile manufacturers and service providers, but the end could come sooner than PC makers thought with the growing popularity of mobile devices.
