The U.S. Federal Trade Commission is investigating Google to see if it is using its prominent position in display ad sales to coerce clients into buying other products. Google recently settled another case with the FTC in January. The regulator did not to do a full investigation as it decided that Google was not violating any anti-trust laws by giving preference to its own products in its search results. Google agreed to license Motorola patents more liberally, and to let search engines such as Yelp opt out of their results being scraped and displayed by Google.
