Automaker Fiat is considering acquiring the part of Chrysler Group it doesn't already own and then launching an offering in the U.S. of shares in the combined company as a way to replenish its balance sheet, the Wall Street Journal reports. If it were to happen, Chrysler would become a publicly traded company for the first time since 2007. It would also represent a change of heart on the part of Fiat chief executive Sergio Marchionne who has previously said he wants to avoid an IPO.
