Dominic Raab, a prominent Leave campaigner during the 2016 Brexit referendum, has been appointed as Brexit Secretary by British Prime Minister Theresa May within hours after David Davis stepped down over the government’s weak Brexit plan.

Davis said he didn’t intend to undermine or challenge May with his decision to quit, lamenting that the PM’s Brexit strategy compromised “too much too easily,” writes the BBC.

The Eurosceptic faction within May’s party have trained their guns on the leader over her Brexit negotiating stance, raising prospects of an attempt to topple her, notes Reuters.
