U.S. Special Counsel Robert Mueller accused President Donald Trump’s former campaign manager, Paul Manafort, of tampering with potential witnesses ahead of a trial related to his money laundering and tax fraud.

In a court filing on Monday, Mueller asked the judges to revoke or revise Manafort’s release order, stating that the ex-Trump aide breached his bail terms by attempting to call, text and send encrypted messages to two potential witnesses, writes Reuters.

Mueller, who heads a separate probe into Russia’s alleged interference in the U.S. elections, has indicted Manafort in federal courts over illegal lobbying on behalf of Ukraine’s previous pro-Russian government, notes the BBC.
