Republican Senators Lindsey Graham and Jeff Flake warned U.S. President Donald Trump against interfering in the investigation that probes the alleged Russian role in manipulating the 2016 U.S. election.

The warning from the fellow Republicans comes in the wake of Trump’s tweet, which challenged the authenticity of memos that fired FBI deputy director Andrew McCabe handed to Robert Mueller, who heads the Russia probe, notes The Guardian.

Following media speculations after Trump’s lawyer said it was time for special counsel to end the inquiry, White House lawyer Ty Cobb clarified on Sunday that the president is not considering firing Robert Mueller, writes the BBC.
