Addressing a joint sitting of both houses of parliament on Thursday, Russia’s President Vladimir Putin vowed to half the country’s poverty and boost employment and life-expectancy of Russian nationals to rates comparable with those in Japan and France.

Putin, who is up against seven challengers in the upcoming election on March 18, underscored the importance of projecting Russia as a world leader in robotics, artificial intelligence and big data processing, notes the BBC.

Retaining the presidential office is no challenge for Putin despite little campaigning or no revelation of his roadmap for the next six years, reports Daily Sabah.
